CANADA-ONTARIO JOB GRANT

JobStart can assist employers to invest in their workforce through the Canada-Ontario Job Grant (C-OJG), which is a government funded program directed to reimburse part of the cost of training to existing and/or new employees. The objective of the funding is to encourage job creation, increase job quality and to provide new skills that can support job advancement opportunities for current employees.

By sharing the cost of the training, employers have the opportunity to update or upgrade the capabilities of their staff and to a greater role when addressing their workforce development needs.

Quick Facts:

  • C-OJG provides up to $10,000 of grant reimbursement per a current employee taking a course

  • Eligible employers are reimbursed up to 50% of the total cost; and, small businesses reimbursed up to 5-sixths of the training costs

  • Employers have freedom to select the employees to be trained, type of training and training provider
