JobStart’s Settlement Program would like to thank Otis Mushonga from Access Community Capital Fund for conducting an immensely informative workshop on ‘Starting Your Own Small Business for Newcomers’. Our attendees gained significant knowledge and are eager to learn more to work on their dreams of owning their own business. Cheers to the entire Settlement Team for making this workshop a success!

New program alert!
JobStart is happy to announce a new Peer Employment Mentoring Program for Persons with Disabilities. This program will provide one on one and group peer mentoring support for jobseekers, and is open to any persons identifying with a disability.
Information and intake sessions:
Monday December 10, 2018 from 1:30pm - 2:30pm,

Congratulations to JobStart’s 2018 United Way Greater Toronto CN Tower climbers!
On November 25, 2018 our climbers conquered all 1,776 steps in the CN Tower Climb! The team’s goal was to surpass last year’s fund raising achievement of $1245.00. 
Together, with the support of JobStart’s staff, board members, friends and family we raised $1,650.00 in support of the ongoing amazing work of UWGT!   These funds help to create opportunities for a better life for thousands of individuals and families. That means lifting people from poverty to a life filled with possibility!  Way to Go Team!!

JobStart Launches the Newcomer Community Integration Program (NCIP). NCIP is an enhancement to our settlement program and it works toward successful social and economic integration of newcomer, refugee women and women with no legal status in Canada.

Congratulations to our recent Capability Program Graduates! Our Capability program offers 8 weeks of pre-employment training and development workshops that include free First Aid & CPR certification followed by a 12 week paid work placement.

May 11 - 2018 
Humber College invited JobStart participating in the Transition to Work Job Fair (Employment Success for People with Disabilities). JobStart was delighted to have the opportunity to meet with current and graduating students to support their search for employment opportunities.

JobStart recently launched The Liberty Village IT Employment Hub.

Recently JobStart had the opportunity to connect with caseworkers at the new Lawrence Heights ODSP office during their meet and greet.
