Employer of the Year Award

June 21, 2017

The 2017 Employer of the Year was presented to Justyna Mohabir, the Assistant Store Manager  of Sobeys Queensway #7383. The award was presented by Louise de Roo, the Director of Finance at JobStart.

June 15, 2016

The 2016 Employer of the Year was presented to Dan Kershaw, the Executive Director of the Furniture Bank. The award was presented by Heather Sant, the Executive Director of JobStart.

June 17, 2015

The 2015 Employer of the Year was presented to Mary Sharpe, President of Riders Plus Insurance Inc. The award was presented by Stephanie Hawkey, Director of Finance at JobStart.

June 18, 2014

The 2014 Employer of the Year was presented to Nick McCall, Owner, McCall’s School of Cake Decoration by Amber Morley, Administrative Assistant to Councilllor Peter Milczyn, Ward 5 Etobicoke-Lakeshore. In June of 2011, McCalls School of Cake Decoration began working with JobStart through our Summer Jobs Service Program. JobStart clients have gained valuable experience, expanded customer service and retail skills. Congratulations McCall’s School of Cake Decoration!

JobStart’s Annual Client Achievement Award recipient for 2017 was presented to Dyan Girard, a JobStart graduate, by Daniel Mayer, the Board President.

June 15, 2016

JobStart’s Annual Client Achievement Award recipient for 2016 was presented to Sayali Malye, a JobStart graduate, by Jacqueline Esler, the Board President.

June 17, 2015 
JobStart’s Annual Client Achievement Award recipient for 2015 was presented to Nazeem Shamsuddin.  Nazeem was a client of JobStart’s The Mentoring Partnership (TMP) program, funded by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities, delivered in collaboration with community and corporate partners, and the Toronto Region Immigrant Employment Council (TRIEC).  His expertise was in the area of biochemistry and administration of educational services at a University level. Through The Mentoring Partnership program Nazeem was matched with a Mentor from the University of Toronto Faculty whose guidance and support helped him to secure employment as a Coordinator in a leading pharmaceutical company.     

 

June 18, 2014
JobStart’s Annual Client Achievement Award recipient for 2014 was presented to Amahley Lea Mayor by Jacqueline Esler, JobStart’s Board President.  Amahley was a teacher from the Philippines who came to Canada to pursue her teaching career. Amahley enrolled in JobStart’s Job Search Workshop program for newcomers, funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and learned invaluable job search tools. Amahley was successful in finding full time employment as a Program Worker at a Child Development Centre.

The 2016 Staff Award of Excellence was presented to Kathleen Leon, Job Coach, by Rebecca Newton, Manager, Programs and Services, and Sindy Goodman, Director, Human Resources. Congratulations Kathleen!

June 17, 2015

The 2015 Staff Award of Excellence was presented to Diana Harrop by Jemima Sabapathy, Director, Programs and Services and Sindy Goodman, Director, Human Resources.
Diana has been a member of the JobStart team for the past two years. Diana is a Job Developer at JobStart’s Dufferin location. Congratulations Diana!
 

June 18, 2014

The 2014 Staff Award of Excellence was presented to Ali Behroozian by Susan Ingram, Director, Human Resources and Jemima Sabapathy, Director, Programs and Services. Ali has been a member of the JobStart team for the past seventeen years. During his tenure, he has worked with various programs such as the Career Action for Newcomer/IT the Job Connect Program and Employment Ontario.  Ali is currently a Job Coach at our Dufferin location. Congratulations Ali!
